Alex McAndrew (Clarkson) won the DII DH championships in Angel Fire New Mexico. His time was good enough to win the DI race by over 10 seconds. Congratulations Alex!!!!![youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2vRAPLJ6Sv0]
A pre-race report from Derek Harnden (UVM)
We made it.
Yesterday we landed in Albuquerque with all our bikes and had a scenic drive north. Speed limits out here are 75mph with dead straight perfect highways until the mountains. Pretty cool. It was 78*F in the city and sunny. It dropped to 30*F by the time we got to Angel Fire, where we were accompanied with 2-3inches of snow and white out conditions. The pass 3miles from Angel Fire had a couple cars off the road, and later the snow plow went off closing the highway. Not many people here yet. We ate and got our bikes built up and went to bed hoping for a sunny tomorrow.
Woke up this morning and it was still snowing. About 2-3 inches at the base, with 4-6inches on the lower slopes, and rumors of almost a foot at the top. Nothing is really set up yet so we are waiting for the course to be marked to ride and inspect it. Walking over to the lodge, I saw someone skiing down a trail. Awesome.
Stayed tuned to our twitter @uvm_cycling and check facebook for videos. We have limited internet here but we will be uploading stuff at every chance we get.
Attached picture sums up the weather.
Sun in the future?!?
PS. Could someone send us skis?
Sorry for the delay, there were some marco errors, we will try to get it fixed so results from each weekend are posted no later than Tuesday each week. The team and individual overalls can be found on the ECCC Calendar page .
After week 1, RIT is on top with Rutgers in close pursuit. Let’s see who show up in New Jersey this weekend for Beacon & HPCX to fight for the top spot.

ECCC Cyclocross Team
The 2011 ECCC Cyclocross series is in full swing and we have some results up already on the calendar page, and we are working on the overall standings, hopefully posted soon.
Registration for Beacon Cross closes tonight, and HPCX closes tomorrow!
Like in years past we are part of several larger events and they do fill up, this is mostly an issue for Men’s B riders, so be sure to pre-register well in advance! Also, for any A category racers who plan on doing the UCI event be sure to pre-register as there is no day-of registration for UCI events and have your UCI license in hand when you do.
Results and links can be found on the ECCC Calendar page .

A brief bit of information from Alan Atwood for those individuals & teams who want to promote a race this spring.
With a month to go before the road meeting and the
setting of our 2012 road season calendar, I would like to start
getting the wheels rolling here and get some preliminary ideas on what
schools will be willing to host events next spring.
If anyone wants to host a road race in 2012, take a look at the
Race Promoter’s page of the ECCC website.
It has everything you need to not only make sure you can do this, but
also put on a kick-ass weekend of racing.
Those who want to put on road events next
spring; please put in for weekends on the Google spreadsheet; here’s the URL to get to it:
You will need to submit your presentations to me before the annual meeting (presentations due to me by November 7th).
If anyone has questions, let me know off list at
This wraps up another great year of ECCC racing. Reports, photos and more will be available on Monday and Tuesday, keep
Some of our racers will be attending Collegiate Nationals at Angel Fire. Hopefully we will have reports and Photos from that too. If you are going and want to do something for the site, get in touch with Sully. It would be much appreciated.
I would like to thank everyone who made this year so fantastic.

This past weekend was wet, wild and frigid. Check out the wrap up Here
UNH will be using the first new venue of the year. Neither Atitash or Cranmore have been used in conference racing yet. Both venues have a great reputation for fun riding. Everybody should be really excited. This weekend will also feature a Super-D. This is a mass start event on a technical xc~ish descent. The conference only gets to race this type of event occasionally, so don’t miss your chance.
